Co-worker, turned good friend, turned friend of the band, turned co-artists -- D.R.E.A.M. (or Depression Rules Everything Around Me) - is the band of a friend. Their unfiltered, kinda folky, and raw emotion really shows the pain, hope and irony behindtheir music.
They have this nonchalant attitude towards life, but where they each really let themselves get lost into the music and everything else becomes irrelevant. They have this grit behind it. Sand paper sounds. Cold beers on a cold day. Burnt hot dogs on the grill. Coarse salt in wounds. It's undyingly beautiful.
I listened to the unreleased album, combing through and feeling for an experimental sound, which shines thru on their single "Small World." It played on repeat for a myriad of weeks 'til I couldn't scratch the itch by myself. So we put a camera in front of the boys - shot stills and an upcoming music video. Just wow!
I've honestly never collaborated the way I do with them, and it's almost like I just press the buttons, and let them do the creating. They bleed beauty, art, and are honestly a huge reminder of why I love the indie scene.
