Timmy Milner's "Bruised Apples"
Behind the Scenes: Crafting the Dreamlike World of "Bruised Apples" by Timmy Milner.
Every once in a while, a creative project feels like stepping into a living dream, and directing this music video was exactly that. We needed something that fit the mood of "Bruised Apples." From the sweeping landscapes of Mt. Baldy to the painstakingly detailed miniatures we built by hand, this video was a labor of love—crafted frame by frame to immerse viewers in its surreal, poetic essence.
Mt. Baldy provided the perfect canvas for our story. Its dramatic peaks and quiet, otherworldly atmosphere became a character in itself. The mountain’s vastness echoed the emotions we wanted to convey—raw, unfiltered, and a little wild. The sunlit valleys and shadowy ridges gave us light and texture that can’t be replicated in a studio. It was as if nature collaborated with us to tell this story.
But the magic didn’t stop there. For the apple and tree scene, we leaned into the power of miniatures to create something intimate and slightly whimsical. Each piece was carefully sculpted and painted, bringing a tactile, handmade quality to the visuals. There's something about blending the grandiosity of real landscapes with the charm of tiny, crafted elements that feels timeless and a little magical—a balance of the epic and the personal.
As the music guided the narrative, the visuals came alive. The interplay of natural beauty and intentional design was our way of honoring the song’s emotion, crafting a world where the boundaries of reality blur, and everything feels just a little larger than life.
Directing this project was more than just creating a video—it was creating a moment. One that I hope stays with you long after the final frame.
